Miley, miley

Seriously, who could say that she's not one cute baby?!

and belive it or not this was taken when she was being cranky.

Hmmm...

Ok, so here's the situation; Emi wants to marry her daddy.  She want's me to "hold her baby while she gets in love with her daddy and they go out side and live happily ever after".  I've told her that there are several laws against this kind of thing but she's insistent on marrying her daddy.

She wants Ron to take her to the Dr so she can push her baby out.  Ron's told her that she needs to wait until she's grown up before she can have her own baby and that she can have her own husband there.  That when she grows up she can get a boyfriend and marry him.  No, she dosn't want that, every day it's I want to marry my daddy.

I guess it's good that she loves him.  But it cracks me up.

Great moments in presidential history

This is almost painful to watch but so funny.

Knit, knit, knit

Now that I've finally given my sister in law, Elise, her birthday gifts I can post about them.  It's some of my best work so far.  I'm getting better and better each time :).  I'm just a little bothered about the difference in the knit of the hat and scarf and I think that I made the brim a bit to wide on the hat, but it's all about learning right?  But I think they turned out really great and love the colors.  You can't really tell so well in the pictures but the bottom of the hat and the fringe on the scarf are a much brighter and colorful than they showed up here.

The whole set, hat and scarf and Beeba's little foot.

I am Fabulous and Encourging!!

Okay, so apparently my freind Jodi think's that I'm fabulous!!!  How great is that.  I'll tell you I really haven't been feeling so very fabluous, not one bit.  But now that I've got this award maybe I should strive a bit more for fabulousness.  We'll see how that goes.

Jodi gave me this award though her fabulous vinyl site.  She makes amazing things, and does frequent give aways, you can all see here at Barton Vinyl Decor.

Apparently, this award also comes with a tag, I'm supposed to list my 5 addictions, well here goes...
My 5 addictions:

1. Shopping, I love to shop!!

2. Books, I love reading and love books, I don't think a person could ever have enough books.  And tying into this addiction is also my addiction to Amazon.com.

3. Tea, I love tea, it soothes the soul.  Lately, I've been a really big green tea kick

4. Wine, love it, love it, love it.  Even though I don't get it as much as I used to in Ca.  :(

5. My kids, the make me a better person and I love them.

Now I get to tag 5 other people who I think are fabulous and they are...

Stephanie Waite, even though she dosn't read my blog and I'm sure she wont' participate in the tag, she really is fabulous and a huge inspiration in my life.

Natalie Wright, whe is an amazing crafts person and I really LOVE the stuff she makes

Mauri cause she's my friend and I love and miss her bunches and of course she's totally fabulous!!

Elise my sister in law, even though she was already given this award, I guess this means she's doubly fabulous!

and last, but certainly not least is

Lori my totally fabulous friend!!

And this second award came from Tara and I am deeply honored.  I'm glad that I have been encourging you :).  You are a constant encouragement to me, as well.  I'm so glad that I met you!

Create your own FACEinHOLE

Yay me!

After having a totally crappy weekend where I felt like utter crap I do my morning check of the blog and read though all my friends updates and see that I've been given an award by my new friend, Tara and tagged by Jodi!  So woo hoo, it's brightening my outlook that's for sure!

I'll post the award and other stuff later today.  I feel like crap and need to take a nap, I should be so lucky though.  I al least need to wake up a bit more and clear the cobwebs out of my brain first.

Desiderata (things to be desired)

Desiderata (Things to be desired)

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

This is my very favorite poem.  I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do :)

100 Things

I got this from Natalie's blog and just thought I would do it as well.  So here goes 100 things about me...

1.  I get very anxious in crowds

2.  I love to shop and often spend more money than I should on things which drives Ron crazy because he never likes to buy anything.

3.  I love to give things to my friends and family, it makes me feel good about myself and I never expect anything in return.

4.  I really love making things and really wish I had my own sewing machine so that I could make fun stuff for everyone.

5.  I just taught myself to knit in august and have been getting much better and attempting to make an afghan right now for my couch.

6.  I am a neat person by nature but have a hard time keeping my house in order when I'm the only one doing all the cleaning and everyone else is doing all the messing.  So usually my house is a disaster area, and I'm not kidding.

7.  I'm very neurotic when I clean and it usually takes me a while to do it because I keep going from one thing to the other instead of starting and finishing one thing at a time.  I'll be cleaning up the living room and then take something to put it away upstairs and then I'll start cleaning up there and it goes like that.

8.  I'm a very nervous driver and am scared to drive on the freeway.  I was in a lot of car accidents growing up and I hate parking lots especially.

9.  I have severe depression and have since I was a teenager.

10. I LOVE to read and like to just curl up with a book on my couch and shut out the world for a little while.  I've been an avid reader since I was a child.  Reading is one of my favorite things ever!!

11. I am a proud liberal and often feel out of place in ultra conservative Utah, when my views and opinions are so different from my friends.

12. I love eating swiss cheese and pretzels together and think it's one of the greatest combinations ever

13. I haven't left my house in 5 days, no joke

14. I was born in a small town in FL and moved to Ca when I was 14 and have only been living in Utah for a year and 1/2

15. Ron and I are not married, though everyone calls him my husband and most of the time so do I.  One of these days we'll get married, we'll run off to Vegas and elope.

16. Annie was the only baby I planned, both Emi and Eden were complete surprises, especially Emi.  I wasn't ready to become a mother and was actually horrified when I found out I was pregnant but I'm glad that I did, I love being a mother.

17. I love baking and sharing my cookies with my friends and neighbors

18. I was never a big fan of sugar and sweets until I got pregant with Emi then I became a chocoholic and can't seem to flip the switch off again.

19.  I'm still trying to lose the 50 lbs I've gained having children, although, I was at my heaviest when I was pregant with Annie and have lost 30 lbs since then I still have 50 more to go.  Sigh.

20. I love breastfeeding, I think it's wonderful.  I breastfed both Emi and Annie till the were 14 months old and plan on doing the same with Eden.  I think that people who think breastfeeding is gross and unnatural are crazy and don't know why someone would willing choose to formula feed their baby.

21. I am a huge fan of co sleeping and have done it with all my children.  I do not believe in getting up in the middle of the night and going into another room to feed the baby when you can just roll over and put them to feed and go right back to sleep.

22. I love colors and tend to buy a lot of eye shadow that I don't use and nail polish just because I like the color.

23. I don't iron, I don't even own an iron or an ironing board for that matter.

24.  I love helping people in whatever way I can, though,  in the past I've been overly generous and have let people walk all over me.

25. I have a hard time saying no to people and often feel very guitly when I do.

26. I love, love, love flannel sheets and use them in summer and winter.

27.  I can't stand being late for things and always try to be on time which is hard because Ron is late for everything.

28.  I've been known to be lazy

29. I love to sleep and miss the time when I could sleep till noon every day.  Sleep is one of my favorite things.

30. I died my hair black when I was 16

31. My hair right now is the longest it's ever been in my life, Iused to keep my hair bobbed or in an a line when I was younger and thinner.

32. I'm going to donate my hair to locks of love once it's long enough.

33. I'm a very sensitive person and am easily effected by others emotions.  I don't watch the news or read the news paper because it makes me cry.

34. I love jewelery but hardly ever wear it.  I buy it and usually end up giving it away because I think it would suit someone else better.

35. I love soup, tomato soup with cheese and lots of crackers is my favorite.

36. Sushi is one of my very favorite foods.

37. I've been in my new house now for almost 2 months and am still not completly unpacked.

38. I have very vivid dreams and have been known to talk in my sleep.  I used to sleep walk when I was a child.

39. I get migraines

40. I can't stand hipocrisy, inequality or meanness or any kind.  It makes me so angy.

41. I often have a hard time making up my mind about things, like when choosing a color for something or deciding what I want to eat a resturants.  This drives Ron insane.

42. I still don't know what I want to do with my life, and really envy people who grew up with a clear cut path knowing exactly what they wanted to do and who they wanted to be.

43. I still haven't gone to college because I've never been able to make up my mind about what I wanted to be.

44. I love to cuddle on the couch with my family.

45. To often I measure myself against other people and feel inadequate.

46. I love drinking hot tea in the winter and have been drinking green tea non stop this winter.

47. I have hyperhidrosis, which means that my hands and feet sweat a lot.  I hate this and am very embarassed by it and rarely tell people.  I plan on getting surgery to stop it when I am done nursing Eden.

48. The thought of surgery terrifies me.  So do emergency c sections and I am so very greatful that I never had to have one.  I was there for my sisters emergency c section, with her first child and it scared me to death.

49. I am a very emotional person and tend to lose my head in emergency situations.  I tend to freak out, I have a very hard time dealing with tragic events.

50. I've had to call 911 twice in my life, both times were for Annie haveing seizures. The first time I thought she was chocking to death and didn't figure out till afterwards that it was a seizure.  The second time was last Dec at Emi's 3 birthday party Annie had a seizure in the right after dinner.  There's nothing worse than watching your child have a seizure for 2 hours...

51. I would die for my children.

52. My biggest fear is that I'll die while my children are still really young and that they wouldn't remember me when the grew up.  I think that is so sad and cry just thinking about it.

53. I'm very close with my mom and sister and miss them excruciatingly.  They live in Ca still, and I have a step sister who lives in Alaska.

54. I lived in Alaska for 3 months when Emi was a baby.  I was taking care of my dad's house while he went to be with his mother while she was dying of cancer.

55. I used to do finish work for my ex boyfriend who was a carpenter and I was quite good at it.  I also worked at a custom woodworking shop when I was up in Alaska.

56. One of my lifes goals is to make a quilt.

57. I'd also love to travel to Ireland and Thailand someday, also, Tahiti.

58. I am addicted to amazon :) love it!!

59. I am not a very organized person and really envy those who are.

60. I hate clutter but don't ever know what to do about it

61. I detest cockroaches, I think they're the most disgusting thing on the planet and I don't think anyone can convince me other wise.  In Florida they fly and used to fly at my head as a child and hide in the toes of my shoes.

62. I love most any kind of vegetable.

63. I do not like lima beans or beets though.

64. I don't care what a food looks like but can't bring myself to try things that smell bad.

65. I often feel overwhelmed having 3 children.

66. I was a vegetarian until I got pregnant with Emi and started craving meats.

67. I still have a problem with beef and don't think I'll ever eat a steak and enjoy it.  Although, I'll occasionally eat a ham burger.

68. I don't understand why hamburgers are called ham burgers when they're made of beef.

69. If I'm not leaving the house I usually stay in my house clothes and if I go out I change right back into my comfy clothes as soon as I get home.

70. I love getting pedicures and wish I could have one everyday, as it is I'm lucky if I get one a year.

71. Whenever I wear eye makeup I usually forget and end up rubbing my eyes at some point and getting my mascara smeared all over the place.

72. I would love to have a pet, but we're not allowed because we're renting

73. I hope to be able to buy my own home soon so I can paint it however I want to.

74. I love to cook but rarely ever do any real cooking, either because I'm too tired or because Ron dosn't like my cooking.  We have completly different tastes when it comes to food.

75. I'm dreading the day when I have 3 teenage girls at the same time, yikes!!

76. I was a very depressed child, literally,  and did a lot of drugs and drinking as a teenager and in my early 20's.  But was never addicted to anything but cigarettes which I quite smoking when I was 23 and got pregnant with Emi.

77. I don't believe in gun control

78. I was on a pistol team when I was 14 and shot 38's in competition

79. I almost joined the army when I was 18 but didn't because I got freaked out about being on my own away from my family.

80. I was in the Air Force ROTC when I was in high school

81. I didn't get such good grades in school because I hated my homework and rarely did it.  But never failed because I aced all my tests and all my class work.

82. I worked in a vets office for awhile when I was 18, I loved working with the animals but couldn't handle working there after having severl animals die in front of me or in my hands.  I would go home and cry for hours.

83. When I was growing up we always had a dog, this is the first time in my life I haven't had an animal.

84. I was raised by my step father, he started dating my mom when I was 5 and they were married when I was 8.

85. I am the oldest child, I have 3 younger sisters.  One of which is 5 years old.  I also have a, well, step step sister, I guess you could call her.  My step dad remarried and had a baby with his new wife, her name is Lillian and she's about 14 months old.  I'm not really sure if I can claim her as a sister, I've never even met her.

86. I love to watch movies, comidies are my favorites.  I hate watching horror movies and war movies.

87. I'm not really a huge fan of playing video games bout love to watch other people play them.  That's why Ron and I are a prefect couple, he plays the games and I watch him play them.  Not so much anymore though because I'm busy doing other things.

88. I love to take baths and want a huge tub that I can fully emerse myself in.

89. I've only been blogging for 4 months now and never met someone who blogged until I moved to Utah.

90. I've lived through several hurricanes and my house flooded twice when I was little because of them.

91. I only felt one earthquake in the 12 years I lived in Ca and I just thought someone threw something at the wall.

92. I took karate when I was younger and got as far as brown belt before we moved and had to stop.

93. I was a military brat, my dad was in the Coast Guard.

94. My parents moved to Alaska when I was 18, my sister and I chose to stay.  My mom moved back to Ca when I was 22 when she and my dad got divorced.

95.  My back went out a few months ago because my pelvis didn't go back together correctly after I had Eden.  The chiropractor saved my life!

96. It makes me angry that it's so much more expensive to eat healthy than it is it eat junk.

97. I've broken 2 bones and had 7 stiches.  I broke my arm when I was 8 when I was bounced off my cousins trampoline and hit it on a tractor.  I cracked my head open when I was 9,  in a pool accident doing a back dive needing 8 stiches.  I broke my collar bone when I was 11 falling off a bike.  The collar bone was by far the most painful.

100. I was saw the Challenger explode when I was 5.  We used to always go outside to watch the shuttle launches, it was devestating

Pulling up

Here we have Eden this morning pulling up on the step stool or "two steps" as the girls call them.  Up to her knees that's all she was able to do earlier today.

Then as I'm starting to blog about her accompishments and show off the picture I look over to the left and there she is, standing at the chair!!!
And so very proud of herself.  I had to go get my phone take some pictures and restart the post.  But I think it was well worth it.
She's doing everything so fast I wish I could slow her down so she'd stay my sweet little baby forever.  But she's gotta keep up with her sisters and she is so ready to run and play with them already.  The other day she was crawling around and the girls were running back and forth laughing and everytime they would run by Eden she would just laugh and laugh and crawl as fast as she could after them.  It was so cute...

Girls night

On friday night I had a girls night with some of the women from the old neighborhood.  We had a really great time and laughed a lot.  It was really good to get out of the house and leave the kids with Ron and have some adult time.  I've really, really needed it.

Anyway, we met up at Los Hermanos in Lindon and had dinner and conversation and after that we left and went over to Sarah's house, she used to live across the street from me.  We played a game called Curses, if you've never played it I reccommend it highly.  I haven't laughed so hard in a very long time.  After a bunch of the ladies left we just hung around and talked some more.

On saturday, I was supposed to have another night with out the girls, but alas it wasn't to be :(.  Elise had her birthday dinner at an all you can eat sushi place and Ron and I were supposed to have gone but several things just didn't go right.  Ron didn't get up till 4 and I didn't think the dinner wasn't till 6:30, when really it was at 6...so we would have been ridiculously late.  So we ended up not going.  I was pretty bummed out about it too, I had really been looking forward to it.  So sorry, Elise, I'll be mailing your presant to you this week.  The rest of the weekend was pretty uneventful.

But Eden is now crawling up on her hands and knees and is even starting to pull herself up on things.  She can get up on her knees and tries to get up to her feet, she hasn't quite made it to her feet on her own yet but if you help her out a bit she can stand up holding on to the couch or whatever for a couple of minutes.  She's going to be walking in no time at all.  The funniest thing about it all is that she still can't sit up on her own, she'd rather be crawling around than being stationary.

Invalid

Wednesday morning Ron had his wisdom teeth removed, all 4 of them.  So he's been laying around the past 2 days in a lot of pain.  Well, he was in a lot of pain before so once he's recovered from the extractions he'll be all better.  So I guess in a way it's a good kind of pain, but I'm sure he dosn't think so right at the moment.  Poor guy when I brought him on on wednesday he came straight down to the office and laid down on the couch and moaned for a good hour and 1/2 till it was time for me to go pick up his medications and they finally kicked in.  He's doing much better today and able to eat a bit more and will be going back to work tomorrow.
And this one, well how could you not just love that face?!  Again, I'm going to moan about my crappy camera and wish I had a much better one so you could see the color of her eyes.  But you can still see the twinkle in them and her irresistable smile!  So it can't be all bad, right?  She is seriously the most smiley baby I've ever seen, she smiles all the time.  She's such a happy girl I was turely blessed to get such a calm, mellow, happy baby.  She really is a joy.
and this little joy is starting to get her first tooth.  I'll let you all know when it arrives.

Winter Wonderland

This is my world outside.  Snow everywhere, it's been snowing for a day and 1/2 straight.  If it hadn't warmed up last week and melted all the other snow we had there would be at least 2-3 ft out there.
I don't like the cold but I love it when it snows.  I love to bundle up and stand outside with my eyes closed and just listen to the quiet.  It's so quiet when it snows, it feels like the whole world has gone to sleep.  All sounds are muffled and you're just surronded by white noise.  It's so peaceful, so relaxing.
So these pictures are the view from my front door.  Everything looks so much better under a layer of white, everything looks so magical.

Tutu's!!

I made tutu's for one of the girls christmas presants...they didn't get them till last night though because it took me a couple of tries and a trip back to the store to get more tulle to get them right.  But they got them this morning and love them!  I'm so proud of myself :)
Beeba in her tutu, she said that her juice wanted a picture too, so her juice got a picture.  Her's is purple, teal and light pink.
Emi really really loves hers and has been dancing around the house in it all day.  Hers' is fuschia, green and light pink.
close up of Beeba's
and a close up of Emi's.  I'm going to make one for Eden next.

Temple square.

We took the girls to Temple Square to look at the lights a couple of weekends ago.  We went with Grandma Kathy and Katie and Chris, the girls cousins.  It was very cold but we had a good time and the girls really enjoyed looking at all the lights.
Ron holding Eden, Katie holding Beeba and Emi walking down the walkway away from the temple.  All the trees there are wrapped in lights.
Christmas tree of lights, sorry for the poor quality...cell phone picture.
A picture of the Temple taken from the reflecting pool in front of it.  The pool had bunches of little lights floating in it and also a creche in the middle.

Happy New Year!!

Woo Hooo, so I'm finally back online!!  Our internet switch over didn't go as smoothly as I would have liked, but we're finally back on and I'm glad it's all over with.  I feel like a crack addict, I was getting all twitchy and feeling very out of touch with the world!  2 weeks is to long to go without the internet...it's so crazy because I just can't remember how I survived the first 20 years of my life without internet and a cell phone, my how the times change.

So lots of stuff happened in the 2 weeks I wasn't able to blog, nothing earth shaking but all the holiday stuff.

Anyway, Happy New Year to you all and I'll hopefully be able to post some pictures and stuff later tonight after the girls are sleeping.
